Invest South Tyneside is the business investment arm of South Tyneside Council in the North East of England.
Creo has provided public relations support to the organisation since 2022, securing hundreds of positive press hits across regional and trade media.
This includes case studies and stories of businesses investing in the borough, forward-thinking employers who are helping to create skilled, rewarding career opportunities for local people and the fantastic work undertaken by signatories of the South Tyneside Pledge.
Our in-house photographers and videographers have also overseen dozens of media calls and photo opportunities, as well as helping to create professionally produced corporate videos for use at events and on social media.
Despite covering a relatively small local authority area, South Tyneside boasts an incredibly diverse business community which punches well above its weight.
Advanced manufacturing and renewable energy in particular are two industries which are thriving and have attracted significant investment over recent years.
Take the Dogger Bank Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Base at Port of Tyne, which serves as the primary hub for the world’s largest offshore wind farm in the North Sea.
Since opening in March 2023, the O&M base has provided apprenticeship and skilled job opportunities to scores of local people, as well as engaging with over 10,000 young people across the borough, a milestone which Creo was proud to help amplify alongside South Tyneside Council.
The £400million International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP) which straddles land between Sunderland and South Tyneside, has also seen numerous automotive and advanced manufacturing businesses expand in – or relocate to – the borough over recent years.
These major developments, combined with existing South Tyneside business success stories such as Barbour, Dicksons and Hitachi, have allowed us to tell the world just how wonderful a place the borough is to start and grow a business.
Creo acts as an extension of the Invest South Tyneside team to help craft and distribute press releases, draft case studies and capture photography and videography.
Constant email dialogue allows us to plan for upcoming stories and events, with quarterly meetings granting us a valuable opportunity to measure the impact of our work and evaluate what is and isn’t working.
Taking high-quality photography and videography is also key. For every story, we arrange for our in-house photographer to capture a press shot for issuing with press releases and where applicable, we also seek to capture interviews and b-roll footage to give our stories the best possible chance of amplification.
Over the past four years, Creo has secured hundreds of positive pieces of press coverage on behalf of Invest South Tyneside, from businesses relocating to the borough to innovators, exporters, apprentice providers and the hundreds of organisations which have pledged to support local communities through the South Tyneside Pledge. Regional radio and TV features have also been secured, helping reach as many people as possible across the North East.
The work has helped position South Tyneside as an even more attractive proposition to businesses seeking to invest in the UK, while also helping amplify the abundance of success stories arising from the borough’s native businesses.
