We’re recruiting for a…

Graphic Designer

What we’re looking for.

An imaginative graphic designer, with the creative flair to produce engaging and impactful artwork for print and digital platforms.

We’re seeking a designer who is looking to test their skills across a diverse range of client accounts, working with the wider Creo team to respond to briefs with eye-catching creative that brings brands to life.

With good knowledge in design disciplines, and at least three years of practice in industry, we would like to find an imaginative and flexible professional who can add to our team with the following skills:

Graphic design: You’ll have excellent layout skills, understanding of typography and will be adept at using Adobe applications to bring campaigns to life – understanding the needs of audiences, to produce media used on social platforms, online or in print collateral.

Digital: Quality content and design is key to our social media and digital marketing strategies for clients. Understanding and being able to adapt in projects is vital to this job role. You will need to know how social media works and how our clients can embrace platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and TikTok with the right visuals.

Sociable: We’re a friendly bunch and we communicate well as a team, which is vital to producing our best results. We are looking for someone who will bring both professionalism and personality to the role – who is a confident creative, able to build strong partnerships with the Creo team and our clients and contacts too.

Organisation: Meeting deadlines, multi-tasking and an ability to prioritise are essential tasks in a busy agency environment. If you’re a self-starter who can manage your time well, we could be a good fit for you.

Application use: We expect that you are proficient in the standard applications you will need to work in this role; Adobe applications, ranging from, but not exclusively, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Microsoft apps such as, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Apple’s Keynote. You will be expected to work within an ‘Apple environment’ (we know that makes us sound a bit pretentious… sorry – we love our Macs!), with Windows skills also useful but not essential. You will be willing to learn as your role develops and as the industry changes.

Creativity: Our campaigns challenge the status quo, and we want like-minded people who share our passion for big ideas. If you’re not afraid to think big, we’d love to hear from you.

Passion: We’re passionate about what we do, and our continuous growth has been fuelled by our desire to strive to be the best. We want people who ‘make it happen’ – who don’t stop until they’ve delighted clients with their work.

What we have to offer.

Challenge: The primary function at Creo is communications, and that can be challenging by nature, but if our experience is anything to go by – it is also fast-paced and very exciting. We offer a truly creative environment where you’re empowered and supported, and where you will grow quickly.

Development: Our success has been down to our people and their versatility in an ever-changing business environment. So we’ve made it our mission to ensure you develop, as we develop. Whether it’s courses for professional development or webinars to refresh your skills, we’ll be by your side as you move through your career, supporting you all the way.

Variety: Working with an array of clients, no two days are the same at Creo towers. From tech to manufacturing, public sector to professional services, you’ll be involved in it all!

Relaxed culture: We take doing a good job for our clients seriously, but we believe strongly that work should be fun. In fact, it’s the key to creativity. So expect lots of laughs – even when the pressure’s on and we’re on deadline. Because we know that everyone does their best work when they’re happy and relaxed.

Flexibility: As well as a Friday flyer, we offer flexibility the other four days of the week too. We have to be around when our clients need us – and generally that’s between 9am-5pm, but we don’t expect you to be chained to a desk during normal working hours… we’re interested in outputs more than hours.

A salary of £23,000 – £29,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Essential requirements:

  • 3 years of agency or in-house experience in a graphic designer role.
  • University degree in a creative, digital or design related field. But if you’re a seasoned pro who entered the industry via another route, feel free to put yourself forward!
  • Excellent knowledge of graphic editing tools.
  • An eye for detail, but someone who can work at pace.
  • Understanding of design techniques, including typography and layouts throughout mediums such as print and web-based projects.
  • Able to build upon brand and produce guidelines for others.
  • Willingness to learn and expand skills to meet client needs.
  • A problem solver who isn’t afraid to think outside the box to find a solution.
  • Consistency in design, a person who is able to see the bigger picture and always have a holistic approach in mind.

Things we’d love (but not at all essential!):

  • Knowledge of website design, production and methods, including prototyping and transfer to real-life application.
  • WordPress and HTML/CSS skills. Including, but not limited to page and post publishing and editing.
  • Video shooting and editing in Adobe Premiere/After Effects.
  • Photography and photo editing skills.
